Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Medical Commission (NMC) on August 13, 2026, issued a notification regarding the National Pledge against Drug Abuse.

The following has been stated: -

•The Department of Social Justice & Empowerment is organising a “National Pledge Against Drug Abuse” on August 18, 2026 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA).

•The NMBA, launched on August 15, 2020, is now implemented across all districts with a focus on youth, women and educational institutions.

•Medical Colleges/Institutions under the NMC are directed to participate in the pledge and undertake necessary action as per the prescribed instructions.

•The campaign has reached over 29 crore people, including 11 crore youth and 7 crore women, through more than 9.22 lakh awareness activities.
